Scientia Insularum, 2(1)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00bb4.9.7&#8243; _module_preset=\u00bbdefault\u00bb]\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sabemos que las islas oce\u00e1nicas son perfectas como modelos para entender el proceso ecol\u00f3gico evolutivo y de conservaci\u00f3n. En el presente trabajo se pretende ir m\u00e1s all\u00e1 y destacar la importancia de las islas volc\u00e1nicas como laboratorio natural para estudiar la acidificaci\u00f3n del oc\u00e9ano (AO). En determinadas condiciones, la actividad volc\u00e1nica crea un sistema de surgencias en las islas que emiten gases ricos en CO2. Por lo tanto, se crea un escenario futuro donde aparecer\u00e1n las caracter\u00edsticas qu\u00edmicas esperadas, como un pH m\u00e1s bajo y menores concentraciones de aragonito y calcita. Aqu\u00ed, presento 22 sistemas de acidificados situados en islas volc\u00e1nicas distribuidas por todo el mundo. Cada uno de ellos ha sido estudiado para descubrir el impacto negativo del AO en los organismos marinos. Superando los experimentos <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">in vitro<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, la investigaci\u00f3n de los sistemas acidificados ha ofrecido las posibilidades de entender el futuro. Para comprender c\u00f3mo toda una comunidad se adaptada y desarrollada con diferentes interacciones de especies y funciones ecol\u00f3gicas bajo acidez continua. In the present work, it is intended to go farther and emphasize the importance of volcanic island as natural laboratory to study the ocean acidification (OA). Under certain conditions, the volcanic activity creates a vent system in islands which emitting gases rich in CO2. Therefore, it creates a future scenario where chemical characteristic expected will appear, such as lower pH and lower concentrations of aragonite and calcite. Here, I present 22 vent systems located on volcanic islands distributed all over the world. Each of them has been studied to discover the negative impact of OA in marine organisms. Overcoming in vitro experiments, the investigation of vent has offered the possibilities of understanding the future. To comprehend how an entire community is adapted and developed with different interactions of species and ecological functions under continuous acidity.
