Scientia Insularum, 5(137-143)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00bb4.9.7&#8243; _module_preset=\u00bbdefault\u00bb]\n<p>En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, la investigaci\u00f3n sobre la acidificaci\u00f3n oce\u00e1nica en los respiraderos de CO2 ha aumentado, pero muy pocos estudios han considerado a las comunidades de meiofauna que habitan en sustratos arenosos, a pesar de su importancia como bioindicadores. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este trabajo es llevar a cabo un estudio preliminar de la meiofauna asociada a sustratos arenosos en el sistema acidificado de La Palma, Islas Canarias, que incluye lagunas costeras con ambientes extremadamente extremos. Los resultados obtenidos, basados en la abundancia, confirman un cambio significativo en las comunidades meiofaunales en estas lagunas costeras. Encontramos un aumento en los taxa bioindicadores de ambientes alterados: oligoquetos, nematodos, cop\u00e9podos y, en menor medida, ostr\u00e1codos y \u00e1caros. Mientras que los xenacelomorfos son los m\u00e1s afectados por la acidificaci\u00f3n, ya que son el \u00fanico grupo con una disminuci\u00f3n en su abundancia. Therefore, the aim of this work is to carry out a preliminary study of the meiofauna associated with sandy substrates in the acidified system of La Palma, Canary Islands, which includes coastal lagoons with very extreme environments. The results obtained based on abundance confirm a significant change in the meiofaunal communities in these coastal lagoons. We found an increase in bioindicator taxa of altered environments: oligochaetes, nematodes, copepods and, to a lesser extent, ostracods and acarids. While xenacelomorphs are the most affected by acidification as they are the only group with a decrease in abundance.
