Sea Urchin Larvae Biology
For three years, my research field was fisheries biology, specially focused in some deep-water crustaceans. However, I recently became interested in the effects of ocean acidification in the coastal habitats and the implications of pH declines and water warming on the marine biota of the Canary Islands. By means of manipulative laboratory experiments, I expect to find out what are the consequences of predicted pHs and temperatures ranges over the larval development of key calcifying invertebrates, such as some sea urchin species from the Canary Islands.
