la divulgaci\u00f3n del sector agroalimentario de las Islas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La Universidad de La Laguna acogi\u00f3 ayer 15 de mayo el Seminario Universitario \u201cFiguras de Calidad Agroalimentarias de las Islas Canarias\u201d, una iniciativa organizada por la C\u00e1tedra de Agroturismo y Enoturismo de Canarias del Instituto Canario de Calidad Agroalimentaria y de la Universidad de La Laguna, que reuni\u00f3 a especialistas del \u00e1mbito acad\u00e9mico, institucional y empresarial para analizar los principales retos y oportunidades vinculados al futuro del sector agroalimentario canario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El encuentro, celebrado en el Aula Magna del Edificio Central del Campus Central de la Universidad de La Laguna, form\u00f3 parte de la l\u00ednea de seminarios universitarios especializados impulsados por la C\u00e1tedra, concebidos como espacios de reflexi\u00f3n, transferencia de conocimiento y conexi\u00f3n entre universidad, administraciones p\u00fablicas, investigadores y representantes del sector primario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Durante la apertura institucional, Jes\u00fas Enrique de las Heras Roger, director de la C\u00e1tedra de Agroturismo y Enoturismo de Canarias, destac\u00f3 la importancia de este tipo de encuentros para acercar la realidad del sector agroalimentario al \u00e1mbito acad\u00e9mico y fomentar el conocimiento sobre las figuras de calidad diferenciada existentes en Canarias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEstos seminarios permiten conectar la universidad con el sector productivo y trasladar al alumnado y a la sociedad la relevancia de las figuras de calidad agroalimentaria en Canarias, un territorio con una enorme riqueza y singularidad productiva\u201d, se\u00f1al\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Junto a \u00e9l intervino Luis Arr\u00e1ez Guadalupe, director del Instituto Canario de Calidad Agroalimentaria (ICCA), quien puso en valor la importancia de la divulgaci\u00f3n y la formaci\u00f3n para reforzar el reconocimiento de los productos locales y de los sellos de calidad del archipi\u00e9lago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Arr\u00e1ez record\u00f3 que Canarias cuenta actualmente con 17 Denominaciones de Origen Protegidas y cuatro Indicaciones Geogr\u00e1ficas Protegidas, y destac\u00f3 que \u201clo que no se conoce no se puede proteger\u201d, insistiendo en la necesidad de acercar class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La jornada continu\u00f3 con la ponencia \u201cGarant\u00eda de origen y calidad en Canarias. Su investigaci\u00f3n puso de relieve la importancia de incorporar estrategias sostenibles en cultivos tropicales para mejorar el equilibrio ecol\u00f3gico y la productividad
