El acto comenz\u00f3 con la bienvenida del director de la C\u00e1tedra, Jes\u00fas Enrique de las Heras Roger, y de la vicedirectora de la Real Sociedad, Mar\u00eda N\u00e9lida Rancel Torres, quienes destacaron la importancia de espacios de an\u00e1lisis t\u00e9cnico para afrontar los desaf\u00edos actuales del sector vitivin\u00edcola del archipi\u00e9lago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La sesi\u00f3n principal estuvo a cargo de Leonardo Cury da Silva, doctor en Fitotecnia especializado en fisiolog\u00eda y manejo del vi\u00f1edo, quien imparti\u00f3 la ponencia \u201cDoble poda: la estrategia de Brasil para la viticultura tropical de altitud y sus cuatro estilos\u201d. El experto brasile\u00f1o expuso una metodolog\u00eda de manejo que permite optimizar el ciclo productivo y mejorar el comportamiento de la vid en climas c\u00e1lidos, ofreciendo elementos de comparaci\u00f3n y posibles aprendizajes para regiones insulares como Canarias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El eje central del seminario fue el espacio di\u00e1logo compartido: Retos y desaf\u00edos de la viticultura de Canarias, una mesa redonda moderada por el coordinador general de la C\u00e1tedra, Gabriel Santos Garc\u00eda. En ella participaron los en\u00f3logos Pedro Rodr\u00edguez P\u00e9rez, Jaquelin Herrera Marcichal y Francisco \u00c1lvarez de la Paz, quienes abordaron de manera amplia y t\u00e9cnica las principales cuestiones que marcan la actualidad del sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entre los temas destacados figuraron la singularidad de la viticultura canaria, caracterizada por una gran fragmentaci\u00f3n territorial, diversidad de microclimas y una orograf\u00eda extrema que exige un manejo diferenciado del vi\u00f1edo. Tambi\u00e9n se analiz\u00f3 el impacto del aumento de temperaturas y los ajustes necesarios en la gesti\u00f3n h\u00eddrica, la maduraci\u00f3n y el perfil sensorial de los vinos. Uno de los puntos que gener\u00f3 mayor atenci\u00f3n fue la detecci\u00f3n de focos de filoxera en Tenerife, lo que llev\u00f3 a debatir sobre protocolos de urgencia, controles fitosanitarios y estrategias a largo plazo para proteger el patrimonio prefilox\u00e9rico del archipi\u00e9lago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los ponentes profundizaron igualmente en los retos de las variedades aut\u00f3ctonas, el equilibrio entre innovaci\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica y preservaci\u00f3n de pr\u00e1cticas tradicionales, y las dificultades econ\u00f3micas asociadas a la llamada viticultura heroica, con costes elevados y competencia creciente en los mercados.
