conference whose mission is to bring together top researchers working in these topics.<\/p><p>It is alternatively hosted by Spain and countries in Latin America. Previous editions of the meeting have taken place in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, 2008, Bariloche, Argentina 2011, Salamanca, Spain, 2012, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 2014, Tenerife, Spain 2017, Guanajuato, Mexico 2018, and Bahia Blanca, Argentina 2021<\/p><p>This activity is one of the regular initiatives of the\u00a0 network Geometry, Dynamics, and Field Theories (GDTC), previously known as Mechanical Geometry and Control Theory Network, founded in 2015.<\/p><p>The\u00a0<strong>8th edition<\/strong>\u00a0of the conference will take place in the city of\u00a0<strong>San Crist\u00f3bal de La Laguna, Tenerife<\/strong>, on January 2026.<\/p><p>On this occasion, during the conference, we will celebrate the 60th birthday of one of the network&#8217;s founders, Juan Carlos Marrero. As a modern subject, Geometric Mechanics has its roots in the works of Arnold, Smale and Souriau written in the 1960\u2019s and has led to important contributions in classical problems of mechanics and control.
